San Mateo judge disciplined for disregarding fundamental rights
Judge Susan L. Greenberg's "conduct also gave the appearance of bias and retaliation against Mr. Chicas for his attorney's actions in being late to court, which was a purpose other than the faithful discharge of her judicial duty," the Commission on Judicial Performance order stated.
Judge Susan L. Greenberg of San Mateo County Superior Court was publicly admonished Tuesday by the Commission on Judicial Performance for disregarding a litigant's fundamental rights: She refused to let him be heard at a civil harassment restraining order hearing though he and his attorney were present and ready to proceed.
It was the second time the judge - elected in 2014 and last re-elected in 2020 - was admonished for a similar action, though the first discipline, in 2017,...
