Pot fight? State's hemp limits may cause tension with cannabis industry, lawyers say
Under the proposed rules, people under 21 cannot buy hemp dietary products and these cannot have traceable amounts of THC or intoxicating cannabinoids per serving. The regulations are pending approval by the Office of Administrative Law, but attorneys expect them to take effect because of the deference given to state agencies when creating such policies.
Gov. Gavin Newsom and the California Department of Public Health recently unveiled emergency regulations aimed at curbing hemp use among minors by banning THC-containing products, a measure which top California cannabis attorneys said is ripe for litigation.
