Oil companies sued over claims of price fixing with OPEC

San Mateo County, San Jose sued major oil companies in New Mexico, claiming they had an agreement with OPEC to slow down their production after oil prices skyrocketed in 2022.

U.S. oil companies engaged in a price-fixing scheme with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries by slowing down their own production, even after oil prices skyrocketed following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, a California city and county claimed in an antitrust complaint.
