Credit union is the latest plaintiff to claim Google is a monopoly

A lawsuit filed in Santa Clara County accuses the tech giant of using monopolistic power to "exercise unfettered authority to determine what content and ads are placed on the internet."

First Service Credit Union, based in Texas, accused Google LLC of using monopolistic power to unilaterally change its ad policies and ban certain companies from advertising on Google Search, according to a lawsuit filed in Santa Clara County.

The complaint, filed Sept. 24, claims that Google's control over the search engine market allows the company to force advertisers to agree to its Google Ads policies without providing them with a copy of the agreement.
