SF Superior court clerks vote to authorize future strike action
Clerks seek a commitment by court management to address vacancies and increase the number of positions to better reflect the court's caseload. They say the court's current case backlog is leading to the deprivation of defendants' constitutional rights.
San Francisco County Superior Court clerks have voted to authorize strike action in the event their ongoing negotiations with court management break down.
A statement issued Thursday by the SEIU 1021, which represents the clerks, said that members had voted 99% to authorize the action in a Wednesday vote.
The clerks' contract expired Sept. 30 and the SEIU has been in negotiations with court management since.
