LA judge sets aside part of landmark silicosis verdict

A Los Angeles judge found that attorneys for a stone worker diagnosed with silicosis had not presented enough evidence to establish Color Marble's negligence.

A Los Angeles judge ruled in favor of an engineered stone company that a jury had previously found partially liable for causing silicosis in a stone fabrication worker. Judge William Fahey found that the plaintiff presented insufficient evidence at trial to hold defendant Color Marble Inc. responsible for the illness.
