AIDS group breached patients' privacy, lawsuit claims

The use of tracking codes by Meta and Google meant those companies received identifying information about patients using AIDS Healthcare foundation's websites, according to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation is accused of breaching patient privacy with the use of third-party marketing code on its websites that allegedly disclosed its patients' HIV status and other sensitive health information protected by state law.
