Federal judges are lobbying hard for a bill to add 21 permanent district court judgeships in California, and 63 nationwide, over a decade, and a Republican leader in the U.S. House of Representatives expressed confidence Tuesday that the bill will be approved soon.
The bill would give President-elect Donald Trump 22 new district judgeships to fill during his upcoming term, including seven in California. The remaining judges would be added in 2029, 2031, 2033 and 2035.
