A Fresno jury returned what the plaintiffs' attorneys believe to be the largest noneconomic wrongful death verdict for a single person at $55 million in a case involving an immigrant man who was crushed to death by a big rig truck.
The amount far outstrips an offer of some $275,000 to the victim's wife and son by Calabasas-based Crusader Insurance Company, plaintiffs' attorney Minh T. Nguyen said in a phone call on Wednesday.
