Invisalign maker accused of colluding to 'destroy' competitor

The complaint, filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court, accuses Align Technology Inc., the American Dental Association, and the American Association of Orthodontists of illegally conspiring to orchestrate "a years-long campaign to destroy SmileDirectClub."

SmileDirectClub, a defunct online orthodontics provider, accused the company behind popular dental aligner Invisalign and two oral health trade organizations of illegally colluding to "spread misinformation" and eliminate competition in the orthodontics market, leading to the company's bankruptcy in September 2023.
