BLM seeks protective order in suit claiming nonprofit mismanaged funds

The lawsuit claimed that Tides Foundation violated a 2020 agreement to receive donations to Black Lives Matter by refusing to honor promises to return donations to the organization or disburse grants requested to be paid to a particular donor.

An order to protect identifying information was granted on Monday in a lawsuit filed by Black Lives Matter accusing a nonprofit of mismanaging and misappropriating over $33 million of the organization's funds.

The nonprofit, Tides Foundation, said in a statement the lawsuit is without merit.
