LinkedIn seeks dismissal of medical data privacy lawsuit

LinkedIn seeks dismissal of a class action lawsuit claiming the company's Insight Tag illegally collected medical data from CityMD patients, arguing the claims are repetitive and meritless.

LinkedIn Corp. asked a federal judge in San Jose to dismiss a putative class action accusing the company of illegally using pixel technology to collect "confidential medical information" from urgent care patients booking appointments with CityMD, the largest provider of urgent care facilities in New York and New Jersey.
