Veen granted leave to clarify complaint over $200K loan between former partners

The case centers on whether a $200,000 loan was part of a True Up calculation or a separate obligation due at the sale of the firm in 2023.

An attorney being sued for more than $570,000 by a former business partner convinced a judge to grant leave to amend the "ambiguous" complaint after a demurrer for it had initially been denied.

Personal injury trial attorney William L. Veen has sued former partner Elinor Leary, alleging she failed to repay a $200,000 loan and additional financial obligations connected to the firm's sale in 2023.
