Consumer Attorneys of Inland Empire held its annual Judges' Night in Riverside

The Consumer Attorneys of the Inland Empire (CAOIE) held its annual Judges' Night on Wednesday at Riverside City Hall's Grier Pavilion, drawing a crowd of civil bench officers and attorneys.

During the event, Superior Court Judge Chad W. Firetag, who supervises Riverside's civil division, highlighted the court's chronic resource gap. "We average 13,440 civil filings a year, which would require 22.7 judges," he said during his speech. "Currently, we have just 11.75 assigned--only 76.9% of the sustainable benchmark."

Despite the shortfall, Firetag emphasized the court's resilience: "Doing more with less is in our DNA. We remain committed to ensuring justice is served."

CAOIE's board members are Lauren M. Vogt of Rizio Lipinsky Heiting (president,) Kenny S. Ramirez of San Bernardino (president elect,) Brian D. Shapiro of San Bernardino (secretary,) Brynna D. Popka of McCune Law Group (treasurer,) Sharon P. Ramirez of the Law Offices of Kenny S. Ramirez (historian,) and Justin H. King of Rancho Cucamonga (immediate past president.)
