BRENTWOOD - J. Paul Getty Trust general counsel Stephen W. Clark never studied art, but he's spent nearly his entire professional career getting an informal education.

Clark's first job after college was at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where he worked his way up from the information desk and through "every horrible low-paid job there was," before eventually moving across the street as the assistant director of the American Craft Museum.
