Sonoma County Superior Court Judge Laura F. Passaglia has presided over a dozen trials, several of them headline-making, since her election in June 2022.

“Most of them, serious offenses,” she noted. Even one of the misdemeanor matters that landed in her courtroom in Santa Rosa involved the kind of crimes that attract national attention and display the conflicts roiling the county.
