Former Civil Lawyer Runs Tight Ship as Judge in Criminal Court

LOS ANGELES - After 16 years on the Superior Court in Los Angeles, Judge Keith L. Groneman may retire next year - or maybe he won't. "In my mind, there was a definitely probability that I would be retiring," Groneman, who turns 66 on Jan. 11, said recently. "But talking to a friend about this, he made a very good observation. He said, 'What you think now and a year from now may be totally different. So keep your options open.'"
