LOS ANGELES - Five years ago, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James C. Chalfant was assigned to one of Los Angeles County's three writs and receivers courts. After 17 years on the bench, he said he's finally found his niche.
"This is the best assignment, and I have no interest in going anywhere else," he said. "Writs and receivers is the greatest."
