Capital Insurance Group® (CIG), the leading regional property and casualty insurer serving the Western United States, announces the opening of a new satellite office in Westlake Village, just outside of Los Angeles. This expansion brings CIG closer to “home” in southern California, where the company was founded more than 118 years ago. Headquartered in Monterey, Calif., CIG employs nearly 500 people across five states (Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, and Arizona) with six additional locations in Bakersfield, Reno, Fresno, Spokane, Roseville and now, Westlake Village. In 1898, CIG started as Ventura County Mutual Fire Insurance Company, formed by a group of prosperous California farmers. Since its humble beginnings, the company grew, merged, and evolved through the years into CIG. While this office expansion is a move back home, CIG has never left the area. The company has developed a growing network of policyholders and independent insurance agents throughout southern California. “Our past meets our future here in Westlake Village, and I couldn’t be more delighted to reaffirm our commitment to southern California in this way,” said Arne Chatterton, President and CEO of Capital Insurance Group. “Westlake Village is a thriving, suburban financial center, with a central location to meet the needs of our existing agents and field staff. We’re looking forward to expanding our relationships and strengthening our regional footprint.” The new, 3,300 square foot office is set to open March 27 and will employ a team of nearly a dozen existing staff comprised of underwriting, sales and loss control positions. CIG is looking to expand this new location in the future. The company is known for providing trusted insurance products for the personal, commercial, and agricultural business segments, with an emphasis on property related exposures. CIG’s suite of insurance offerings include coverage for, but not limited to: personal and commercial automobile; home and condo owners; rental and seasonal dwellings; farm owners and commercial agriculture operations; and commercial real estate business focused on habitational, office, lessors risk, and other property related exposures.
