PALO ALTO - When Egerton D. Lakin started his law firm in Palo Alto 100 years ago, he couldn't have foreseen the changes that would sweep over the region. His partnership with Andrew M. Spears began in 1946 and grew over the years to incorporate specialists in family law, estate planning and real estate. Today, the firm boasts 11 partners, five associates and two of counsel.
