After 25 years as a litigator and time in-house as a CEO and chief legal officer, neutral Bennett W. Root Jr. decided he needed to go back to school.

"I wanted to make sure I was up to date on the most current things, and that I hadn't gone down a rabbit hole and missed something important," Root said of the master of laws degree he completed at Pepperdine's Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution in 2024.
