State Immigration Police Force Idea Raises Legal Issues

Forum Column - By Charles S. Doskow - Immigration issues continue to generate new approaches to dealing with what appears to be a growing national obsession. The proposed California Border Police Act would - if it qualifies for the ballot and is enacted - create a new police agency called the California Border Police, which would be charged with the duty of assisting the federal government in enforcement of immigration laws, at the border and internally.
