Attorney Objects to Judges Opening Court Sessions by Reciting Pledge
Criminal defense attorney William T. Mayo of Chico recently sued to stop two judges from continuing to open court sessions by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayo says that his constitutional rights and those of his clients are violated by having such powerful government officials invoking loyalty to the United States as "one nation under God."
