Oki Won't Seek Higher Rung on Ladder

LOS ANGELES - Embattled Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Dan T. Oki, who was criticized for his role in releasing felony suspects in the summer, will not run for assistant presiding judge next year, to focus his efforts on fending off three challengers to his judicial post.
