Senate, in Final Push, Approves 17 New Judges

WASHINGTON - In one of its final acts before adjourning for the year, the U.S. Senate Wednesday confirmed Los Angeles U.S. Attorney Nora Manella, Orange County Superior Court Judge David O. Carter and San Diego Superior Court Judge Thomas J. Whelan to seats on the federal bench.
