State Bar Pleads Poverty to Clip Lobbyist's Deal
In negotiations to reduce at least one of its contracts, the State Bar of California has claimed to be insolvent, according to the attorney who represents Mel Assagai, the outside lobbyist who holds a $900,000 contract with the bar.
