Disabled Workers Win Right to Seek Higher Damages

SAN FRANCISCO - In a long-awaited victory for disabled workers, the California Supreme Court ruled Monday that employees who were fired after returning from on-the-job injuries can sue for both violation of state job discrimination laws and for common-law wrongful discharge.
