Panel Sidesteps Move to Oversee Private Judging
Declining to interpret a newly adopted constitutional provision, an advisory committee has proposed that lawmakers be asked to decide whether private judges, serving as court-appointed discovery referees, should be subject to the same disciplinary procedure now being established for court commissioners.
