I wonder if Sunil R. Kulkarni approves of race being his only characteristic mentioned in the Daily Journal article about his recent appointment as a superior court judge by Gov. Jerry Brown ("Brown Names Eight New Superior Court Judges," Aug. 30). I would think Kulkarni, instead of being only touted as "Northern California's first South Asian judge," a racial characteristic he had nothing to do with, would be more proud of being recognized for some trait he was responsible for, such as hi...
