Former 'master settlement judge' Karl Jaeger dies.

Services will take place Thursday for Karl W. Jaeger, a retired Los Angeles County Superior Court judge who believed that all civil disputes could and should be resolved without going to trial. Jaeger prided himself on making that happen on the bench and more recently as a mediator and arbitrator.
