Judge named chief magistrate
U.S. District Magistrate Suzanne H. Segal has been named chief magistrate of the Central District, the court announced Thursday.

U.S. District Magistrate Suzanne H. Segal has been named chief magistrate of the Central District, the court announced Thursday. Segal succeeds Magistrate Judge Stephen J. Hillman, who served as chief magistrate for the past four years. Segal, who started her career as a civil litigator, was chief of civil appeals for the U.S. attorney's office in Los Angeles when the Central District judges appointed her to the bench in 2002.
