Key changes in California insurance laws for 2012

First, the statistics: The Legislature enacted 34 bills, effective in 2012, that modify the Insurance Code. These 34 bills add 23 sections to the Insurance Code, repeal four sections and amend 187 sections.


Here are some of the more interesting changes to the Insurance Code. Except where otherwise noted, these changes became effective on Jan. 1, 2012.
