Cotchett firm files suit against MF Global

The suit claims the company's former officers, independent auditor and chief banker wrongly took $1.2 billion from customers to meet liquidity needs and backstop investments.

Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy LLP on Monday filed a putative class action on behalf of MF Global customers in Montana federal court, claiming the company's former officers, independent auditor and chief banker wrongly took $1.2 billion from customers to meet the firm's liquidity needs and backstop investments it made in European sovereign debt instruments.
