The Supreme Court declined Tuesday to rule on whether plaintiffs in the Exxon Valdez oil spill case should receive interest on the punitive damages they won.

In a one-page judgment putting into effect its June decision on the underlying case, the court ordered the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to address the issue on remand.
