Novice DA Had Worked as Deputy Sheriff

BAKERSFIELD - Services have taken place for Mark Richard Baker, a Kern County deputy district attorney who previously worked for a decade as a reserve deputy sheriff in San Bernardino. Baker died July 29 in a police-pursuit motorcycle crash in Bakersfield. He was 34.
