LOS ANGELES - Gov. Gray Davis signed into law Tuesday a bill requiring the first study of compliance in California's public schools with a federal statute barring sexual discrimination in athletic and academic programs.
The study, which will include suggestions on improving compliance with Title IX, is due to the Legislature by Jan. 1, 2004.
