BAKERSFIELD - Stephen M. Tauzer, a veteran Kern County assistant district attorney who prosecuted dozens of murder cases and was widely respected by his colleagues, defense lawyers and even some defendants, was found stabbed to death inside the garage of his Bakersfield home, authorities said Monday.
