Lawsuit Sends Schools a Message

If you bash, you pay. That's the message Derek Henkle and his lawyers want to send to school districts nationwide after settling an anti-gay harassment lawsuit in Reno, Nev. Henkle alleged Washoe County School District officials failed to stop taunts and physical abuse that he endured during his 1995-97 high school years. Henkle v. Gregory , N00-0050 (D. Nev., settled Aug. 28, 2002).
