Judge Cuts Fee Award for Anti-SLAPP Lawyer

SAN JOSE - A Santa Clara County judge has slashed the fee request of an Oakland attorney who specializes in fighting lawsuits aimed at chilling public criticism, saying his bill for successfully fighting a hotly disputed defamation lawsuit was "manifestly unreasonable and excessive."
