Governor signs ballot reform bill

SB 1253, which was backed by former state Chief Justice Ronald George, is intended to make the ballot initiative process more transparent to the public by putting more information online and extending the petition prcoess.

To increase public participation in the ballot initiative process, Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill Saturday that would use technology to make information on ballots more visible to the public.
