Court appoints new interim federal public defender for Central District

As the head of the largest entity of its kind in the nation, Hilary Potashner - the No. 2 defender in the office since 2012 - steps into one of the highest profile positions anywhere in the indigent defense community.

LOS ANGELES - Last week, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals officially announced Hilary Potashner as the Central District's interim federal public defender in what will almost certainly become a full four-year appointment .
