Small businesses might not know it, but a new law extending sick leave to all full-time workers could soon give them unpleasant surprises.
Signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown last week, AB 1522 requires employers to provide three days per year of sick time, which can also be applied to caring for certain family members, to workers.
