Lawyer pleads guilty, returns client money

A disbarred attorney pleaded guilty Monday to three counts of felony grand theft in relation to illegal payments he took from clients.

Disbarred attorney Gerard Lionel Garcia-Barron pleaded guilty Monday to three counts of felony grand theft in relation to illegal payments he took from clients.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge David Horowitz sentenced Garcia-Barron to 180 days in county jail and three years probation. As part of the plea deal he returned more than $7,000 to clients he took retainer fees from.
