Retired judge dies

John C. Rayburn Jr., a former assistant U.S. attorney in Los Angeles and Santa Ana who also served as a magistrate judge in the Central District, has died.

John C. Rayburn Jr., a former assistant U.S. attorney in Los Angeles and Santa Ana who also served as a magistrate judge in the Central District, has died. Rayburn, who presided over a courtroom in Riverside for about two years, died Monday. He was 52.
