Midsize Firms Expand In-State Footprint

In a push to compete with their larger brethren, California-based midsize firms are expanding their footprint across the Golden State. This year, a number of such firms have announced plans to open satellite offices, signaling an increasingly regional approach to the marketplace.

      LOS ANGELES - A Silicon Valley corporate shop or San Diego intellectual property outpost tops the wish list of managing partners from Boston to Seattle, but far-off law-firm leaders are not the only ones with California expansion hopes.
      Firm leaders in less-distant locales such as Newport Beach and Los Angeles also have been California dreaming....
