New state appellate court justices confirmed
A longtime federal judge and a high profile proponent of same-sex marriage won unanimous approval from the Commission on Judicial Appointments to serve on the state courts of appeal Thursday.

SAN FRANCISCO - A longtime federal judge and a high profile proponent of same-sex marriage won unanimous approval from the Commission on Judicial Appointments to serve on the state courts of appeal Thursday, in what are the first new justices to be confirmed in a year and a half.
