Designer: I Didn't Read Fine Print

The doll designer at the center of a fiercely litigated federal trial over rights to the popular Bratz line testified Thursday that he didn't fully understand a contract he signed with Mattel requiring employees not to consult or design for a competitor while working for the toy maker.
