Panel Bars Judge From Evaluating Abuse Cases
LOS ANGELES - The 2nd District Court of Appeal on Tuesday blocked a judge from personally determining the value of priest sexual abuse cases pending against the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange. The court found that Superior Court Judge Peter D. Lichtman overstepped his authority as a mediator by seeming to issue a binding ruling.
