Tossing Write-In's Ballots Violated Voters' Rights, Lawyer Says

SAN DIEGO - Rejecting ballots for a write-in candidate in November's mayoral election may have upheld state election rules but tossing out the votes more importantly violated the electorate's constitutional rights, attorneys for supporters of write-in candidate Donna Frye said this week.
