Big Firms Paying Bonuses

SAN FRANCISCO - Four large Northern California law firms - Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe, Brobeck Phleger & Harrison and Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich - announced this week they will pay their associates substantial bonuses this year, with some busy first-year associates earning $175,000 in salary and bonuses in 2001.
